 About the Photographer - Penn Lewis dba "Photo Art Limn"

Ottawa, Ontario based advisor in Tourism & Hospitality, Penn was raised in many areas of Canada - East, West, Pacific, Atlantic, and has been lucky enough to travel to many parts of the World.

First camera was a Brownie, next a Pentax S1a. Charter Student at Simon Fraser University (the legendary Stan Fox taught film courses), he successfully pursued a career as a Hotelier with Hilton International and Interstate Hotels (30+ years) which gave him opportunities to see many different parts of the World. Pentax Super Program became camera of choice (especially its versatile 70 - 210 mm lens).  Gradually contacts, art dealers and friends encouraged Penn to share his images. During this time some images were used in Hotel brochures, promotional materials. Photo Art Limn (photography = art, its use = illustration) a pseudonym to separate Photography from his hotel persona.

2002 Penn became a private advisor to destination marketing companies, hotels, and tour operators = more opportunities to travel. He continued to develop not only his "eye", but also a catalogue of destination images - over 25 were shared with tour operators selling Canada.  In 2003 he survived Prostate Cancer (second  brush with the big "C").  Penn started building different series i.e. Floral - Iris, Tulips etc., as well as destination portfolios (Maritimes, UK, Germany etc. 

2006,  The Leap to Digital - a Fuji FinePix Z1 - initially to complement film (Pentax and now Nikon). Penn started "Public Face", a series that captures property owners passion for their land/garden as observed from the sidewalk. 2007 he moved into the Cabbagetown area of Toronto

In late February 2013 Penn moved to the fascinating Ottawa/OutouaisRegion...exhilarating  Has been lent use of Nikon D50...
